This book was the third in the series and I do suggest you read
numbers 1 and 2. You can read it as a standalone,
although the first two books were really great and I think you would appreciate
this one more if you read them all. I’ve
always loved reading about the Amish, but the premise of this book, this
series, was not one I would have thought of.
The story line is very different from other Amish books I’ve read and
the main character does find difficulty in accepting what the elders say is in
the bible, as she knows the difference after looking at the bible through the
Englishers eyes. She feels the fate of
bullying from the elders and she really has to decide on her future very
carefully. She has been denied doing
some things that she really loves her Father seems to be going along with what
the Elders have to say, although their children aren’t treated the same as
those in the church in Summer Grove. You’ll
have to read the book to find out what happens but believe me this one is a
riveting read and I found it hard to put down.
I believe I read it in one day!
I was given the book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher for Cindy Woodsmall.
